Request properly. Rather than of putting gloss on like you do lipstick (from left to right, peak to base with a smack!) request gloss to the middle of your base lip only. Wipe lips together. This will hold gloss from going on too broad & getting goofy on you.
Apply gloss over lipstick. I love the gaze of just a bit of gloss over a neutral lipstick. A fresh, dab just a bit in the center of the lips and smooth out from there. Keeps you from applying too thickly.
Got too goofy? Smack lips between a tissue paper, just like you would lipstick.
Make gloss pop. brighten lips with concealer before adding tinted edge gloss
